From LDS Family Search: William Forest Ray Davis b.abt 2 1760 Dec Shelby Co Ohio d.abt 12 1837 Oct Shelby Co Ohio His parents were listed as Charles and Lydia (Davis) Davis. His wife's name was listed as Elizabeth Cocston The submitter of this record was a William Bell of Tallahassee Florida Additional information: His wife died April 11, 1841 81y 6m 12 d In the Shelby County Ohio Newsletter "Historical Highlights" Vol 5 # 7 July 1999 reports stone of Rev. Davis located (pp.5-6) during Cemetery cleanup in 1980. Lastly the entry "William Davis of Shelby County" (from New Jersey) in 1938 DAR "Official Roster Soldiers of the American Revolution who lived in the State of Ohio" is in fact a mistake-this Davis was a resident of Clark County, Ohio. All of the above has been sent to DAR Corrections Genealogist. In regard to war service (possible)-c/o G. Brennan A William F. R. Davis (S32258) MD Line b. 14 Dec 1763 Fredrick Co Va (later Montgomery Co MD); 1792 moved to Fauquier Co Va. Dec 1823 moved to Greene Co Ohio. Applied there 17 Sep 1832. 1833 lived in Sugar Creek, Greene Co Ohio. |

1883 "History of Shelby County Ohio".pp.278-279: Peter Rinehart was from Germany; and came to America with his parents prior to 1776. His father died in American Revolution. Peter was married to a Woman named Barbara; in 1801 they were living in Virginia; came to Ohio 1804; Peter served in the War of 1812; they moved to Fairfield Co Ohio until 1826/1827 when they came to Perry Twp. His son Abraham Rinehart was born in Greenbriar Co Va Jan 27, 1801 and died Pemberton, Perry Twp November 1877. |

Native of Georgia. "...a lady of much refinement, and a descendant of the royal family of England. When but a child she had been entrusted to carry several military dispatches of great importance during the closing scenes of the Revolution. In this capacity she won many expressions of gratitude and admiration for her sagacity and daring..." About 1799 married John Wilson (1774 Grayson Co Va-June 7, 1841). She died 1847. They settled in Washington Twp, Section 7, Shelby County, Ohio March 1807. They are buried in "...old cemetery at Hardin..." (Pioneer Cemetery(?).
